About

The beginning

This started with a personal exploration in wool and yarn and turned into a development of a business.

I was looking for something not just soft, or beautiful in colour, but thoughtful in all ways. Something where fibre source, processing, and dye are all equally considered and cared for and come together to make beautiful yarn that feels good to work with.

The approach

This is a small collection of yarn, built slowly.

Each yarn base is chosen and developed with intention. How it feels in the hand, how it takes on colour, how it holds structure, how it blooms.

All the fibres are sourced with care, with a focus on building closer relationships to where and how it's produced. Wherever possible, everything is kept within Canada, and I continue to move toward sourcing and manufacturing locally. Some fibres are sourced from outside Canada, selected with consideration for sustainability, fair trade, and the suitability for specific Canadian yarn processing abilities.

Every skein is dyed by hand in small batches on my farm studio, in Eastern Ontario. Colour is developed to sit within the fibre, not on top of it. Allowing for depth, softness, and natural variation.

The yarn

The collection will begin with a small number of yarn bases. These are being developed as you read this. Many hands are working hard behind the scenes to bring the collection to life.

Each one is designed to be versatile, reliable, and a pleasure to work with. Whether for simple, everyday pieces or more detailed projects. As these develop, I will update more information here, or sign up for the Newsletter to be the first to learn about developments.

Why it matters

This is not about producing more. It's about making yarn that feels good. Knowing where your yarn came from, how it was processed, and what makes is special.

Across Canada wool has been undervalued for too long. With careful, mindful businesses we can work together, as a community, to support local farmers, mills, and makers.

Wool yarn is a natural product, variation is part of it. Colour may shift slightly between batches, texture may vary subtly from skein to skein. These are not imperfections, but part of what makes each piece feel individual.
